Tournament History

Jake Milford was a player, coach, and general manager for a number of teams for more than 40 years before joining the Canucks as our General Manager in 1977.  It was the long-lasting impression Jake left with all who interacted with him that inspired the Vancouver Canucks to initiate a golf tournament that would bring the club, its players and longtime sponsors and friends of hockey to celebrate a great man, the great game of hockey and the start of one more winter season.
 
Since 1984, “The Jake” has been a conduit for us to celebrate the strong bonds that tie together our past, present, and future. We have an opportunity to honour our Canucks Alumni, our current players, and children and families in need across our province.  This event would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, donors and participants.
